A Sulzer boiler feed water pump failure several time by axial thrust where in same case we lost completely the shaft. the pump driver by SIEMENS and Electrical motor. is it the case for same ammonia plant ???

The most probable root cause of failure seems that either balancing line was choked or blocked due to any reason. The other reason may be worn seals of balance drum which could not function which overloaded the thrust bearing pads.
