Benfield did not concentrated

Post by annas » Sat Jun 10, 2017 9:20 pm

Dear sir,
We have been using kellog process with benfield system since a long time ago
In revamping period, we have replaced activator DEA with ACT-1.
But recently we found problem, everytime we loading the K2CO3 the concentration did not concentrated.
We have made sure all the drain has been closed, so why this happened ?
Whehter the K2CO3 brand replacement has an effect with this problem sir ?
Thank you

Have you checked the water balance inside the CO2 removal section? in other words are you going to feed the CO2 absorber with a very high gas temperature, while the stripper/regenerator's vapour are condensed at a lower temperature?

Does your Reboiler use LP steam? Have you checked whether the Re-boiler is leaking?
Have you checked your water balance?
Have you checked whether the Absorber inlet temperature is correct. If temp high, it will carry more water in.

Dear
Please check the Benfield downstream exchanger and Methanator bed pressure drop, is there any increase?
Check the lab procedure. Check water balance, Regen/Absor/Reboilers level transmitters. Carryover of BS solution along with CO2. Do analysis of Regen downstream separator condensates.
