Fe + Ni in Ammonia Product

My plant restart after stopping machine maintenance. Differential pressure of ammonia filter into urea plant is so high and continuous increase. Fe and Ni content in Amo products are 2ppm and 50ppp, respectively. There appears a little Cr. This phenomenon lasts more than a month. Let me ask, where are these metal components?

Did you change any heat exchangers or perform any maintenance activities?. Fe/NI could come from catalyst carry over. Worth checking DP and converter bed parameters.

From your front end, what is the condition of your steam inlet valves to your reformer.
If Ni, Fe & Cr is picked up then the possible cause could be;
1. Metal dusting or internal corrosion of the catalyst tubes in the reformer
2. Catalyst breakdown or sintering in the primary reformer
3. Condensation corrosion or process flow assisted corrosion of the process line(s)
4. Oxidation of the converter catalyst
Take a proper assessment/NDT integrity checks on your facilities such as catalyst tubes MOC verification, eddy current and process piping corrosion mapping, etc.
